The Art of Doing Nothing

Yeah, no this is not a Kitkat ad. That would be the last thing on my mind right now. But I could very well use a kitkat, of course. We all could. You know why? Because we are all having a break.   Hence, the picture.   Genius, eh?   No,   just me?   Alright. Regardless, it is true. Life is giving us a break, isn’t it? I mean how many times have you rolled out of bed wishing you could stay home? How many times have you wished you had more time for yourself? How many times have you wished you could give more time to your family? How many times have you wished for a day off to get to the things around yourself? Well, guess what: the universe has finally listened to you. You are getting that time off. You are getting that break. Of course, it is not in the way that we intended. But let’s look at the positive side. Right now, by staying home, you could save the world. This is probably every introvert’s dream. You can stay home and do nothing and relax beca...

Corona Virus: The Mayhem

The world is in chaos right now because of the much heard Corona Virus. Less than 3 months ago, this virus caused mayhem in China and now it has ‘travelled’ to all parts of the world and it is spreading like wildfire. Every day there are new cases of infections and deaths. People all over the world are panicking, hoarding up on hand sanitizers, soaps, liquid hand wash, masks, and toilet paper in Australia. Seriously, though for the last one? Entire countries are being locked down for the safety of their citizens. And what is Nepal, our bordering country to China, doing? Well that is interesting. Nepal has only reported one case of Corona Virus so far, that too which has been recovered. Hmm….suspicious much, isn’t it? Is it that the Nepalese are being ignorant about this? Or is that the government is not taking proper measures that they need to? Newsflash: it is both. The international airport did not properly check the passengers. And a few days ago only, the Visit Nepa...

To my Childhood Friend

I wish I had a more clear reason of why you did, what you did. I’ve thought about it countless times, but to no avail. I see you in my dreams every now and then, and it feels so real, as if whatever happened had not happened, only to wake up and realize that reality is otherwise. I’m not judging you of course, it might have seemed right to you, at the time. I imagine, you must have been in a lot of pain and frustration to have taken that decision. I can only wish that I should’ve been there for you. I feel responsible for the slight drift that came between us. And it was; it happened because of me. I still remember our conversations every day after school. You’d call one day and I’d call the next. It’s funny how we used to have so much of things to talk about and laugh at, despite spending majority of time together at school. I’m not sure how it was that we were able to get along so well, because we were worlds apart when it came to nature, but you just really got me. Mayb...

Best Cheesecakes in Town

Cheesecake is probably still a new thing for many people in the valley, unless you’re a dessert freak, which I hope you are because they are delicious. But here’s the thing, because cheesecake is still a rare delicacy here, all places do not make good cheesecakes, I repeat, they do not make good cheesecakes. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Cheesecakes are of two types: baked and non-baked. If you ask me, both kinds are heavenly. What matters most for a good slice of cheesecake? The texture and the creaminess. It is cream cheese after all, duh! Before we get into the good places, let me tell you where not to go for a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake at Baker’s den, Naxal in front of Bhatbhateni is awful. Yeah, sorry but someone had to put it out there. I remember my friend pointing out that cheesecake at Dhokaima cafĂ© is soo good, so I went and tried it. It felt okay then, but when I tried the good ones, it felt like a miserable excuse for a cheesecake: sorry. Now...
