Visit Nepal 2020: will it end in promotions only?

So here we are at the end of January, the first month of 2020 is over. By now the hype for the New Year is mostly over and you might have stopped making the mistake of writing down 2019 on the date of your notes. The promotions of Visit Nepal 2020, have been in full swing as evidently seen by everyone. There was the grand show at Dashrath Rangshala Stadium, widely broadcasted, visibly enjoyed and appreciated by everyone, no doubt. The Visit Nepal 2020 campaign logo was been used nation wise, both by corporations and individually. There are photo stands, the official Nepal 2020 mascot: the yeti has been places around the valley, so much so that one innocent even acknowledged the yeti as an idol. And need I even get started on the controversy that it is causing? Go through the article ; one yeti statue is said to be around 4500$, and there are 108 Yeti statues around the valley. Can you wonder the sustainable development that could have been done with that amount? Promotions are n...

One Day in Nagarkot

Nagarkot is the most popular hill station in Nepal. Besides the fact that it is a quick ride/ drive away from Kathmandu, perfect for the weekend getaway, one can get a spectacular view from up here. It is one of the reasons Nagarkot is so popular among both foreigners and Nepalese. Overnight stay  The best thing about Nagarkot is the sunrise/sunset so make sure to stay overnight. You can find more than a couple of great places to stay the night. One of the resorts gaining eyes is the Mystic Mountain. Another is Hotel at the End of the Universe. Look up places at Nagarkot. There is no shortage of places to stay over. View Tower Is your visit to Nagarkot really ever complete without the trip to the view tower? You know what? I’m not even going to exaggerate, I’ll let you be surprised on your own as to just how beautiful it looks from up here.  Buddha Park Garden Explore this beautiful park here in Nagarkot and watch time go by! You see what I did there? ...

Yala Wears : Going Local

Nepal has always been scarce with local products, and with the little they have, many are not willing to try. Thankfully, all that is slowly changing and more and more people are opening up to using local products. I was sadly one of the predecessors; no, I am not proud of it. But all that changed when I went for it and tried a Yala Wears product. So, Yala Wears is focused on a different market, they specialize in sports wears, fit for working out and exercising. Such products are readily available in the market, no doubt, but of Nepali Origin? Nada, zilch. So…….great initiative! I got a sports bra from Yala wears. The first thing that got my attention was that the design looked really neat. And the fabric felt right, if that makes any sense. And to wear? It is super comfortable; it is super supportive; it is everything. I mean, I don’t even notice a difference between a real bra and this. I am 100% sold on Yala wears.

The Time I Tried Aaloo Nimki

Yeah I was unfortunate enough to have tried this Dharane delicacy only a few weeks prior. I only wish I had tried it earlier. But better late than never, right? Sure, I’ve heard from my friends from the east how good it is, but I’ve never been to the east of Nepal, so how was I to know, right? Until I heard about the Jupiter tole place. I’m sure you must’ve heard about it too. It became a hit overnight as some popular food bloggers shared about it. And I’d always been meaning to try it, I swear. I had been putting it off because, well, I didn’t really know the Nakhipot area and that area could be confusing. And then one day, to my delight, my colleague decided to take me there. I’m not going to lie, the location is still confusing to me. But once we found the place, I galloped over to the counter, literally! And the wait was worth it. It’s crunchy, mildly spicy, infused with all these different flavors. There’s crunchiness of the nimki, but the dish is not dry; blended with ...

To The Boy I Never Loved

I hope you are doing well; it’s been a while since we last spoke, hasn’t it? I hope you’ve come out of your comfort zone and talked to more people, like I always encouraged you to. I hope you have tasted success in your life that you always craved for. And love: I hope you have found the love that you wanted so much, the love that you expected from me so badly but I could not give you. I never understood if it was you who couldn’t convince me enough or if it were me who was not willing to see that perception. In my eyes, we were good friends, the kind of friends who knew each other very well and would listen through any kind of problems. I’m not sure when it was that you saw this friendship as something else, but sadly you did. It’s not wrong, of course; I’m glad you got to have this experience. I’m just sorry it wasn’t with someone who reciprocated your feelings. I must have hurt you a lot unintentionally and I’m truly sorry for that. I truly hope you fall for someone who loves...
