Harsh Reality of Nepal

Every day, about 1750 people leave the country in search of work elsewhere. Close to 50 % of Nepalese rely on financial help from relatives working abroad: am I presenting facts here? No, I am just stating the harsh reality of Nepal. Something to be proud of? Of course not. Who is at fault here? The government who could not provide better opportunities, be it education or employment or the youth who crave for a better lifestyle? A complicated decision, isn’t it? Maybe I am moving too forward here. Let us step back a little. How many young people do we see every year with the phrase : I’m studying IELTS, I’m applying for abroad, or there is no other way than going abroad. Whether it is for higher studies or employment purposes, people are moving abroad, and how many people who go to foreign countries actually come back: very few. Time and again, we see people preferring the lifestyle in the respective countries; it’s more convenient, its more facilitated, or simply beca...

A Better Person

How would you describe a better person? Someone who is more kind than you? Someone who is more successful than you? Someone who achieves more marks in class than you? Someone who is more honest than you? Someone who works harder than you? What if I told you that all these things are both true and false when it comes to being a better person? We strive to become better than the next person. Yes, there should be comparison, but not with another person; with yourself. Compare the person you were yesterday and the person you are today. Realize the mistakes you made yesterday, and take a step to not repeat them today. Focus on being a better version of yourself: try being kinder, more successful, achiev...

The Most Powerful Tool

I know this is random, but I was just thinking the other day when I was on my scooter, riding through the roads of Kupondole: every vehicle created, every vehicle rushing along this road was a part of someone’s imagination. You know how sometimes a certain thought takes you along the train of thoughts? It just mesmerizes me how and what kind of things have been created throughout time. Man needed, so he created. Someday, someone must have thought: what if we could reach some place faster rather than on foot? ; The consequence of which we see today. Some other must have thought what if we could fly to some place? Some other must have thought the concept of travelling on water; someone must have felt the need to talk to their loved ones miles away and the telephone was created; it must have clicked to somebody else that they wanted to view the person that they were talking to. Cars, ships, airplanes, telephones, mobile phones, computers, televisions, radios: it is just not o...
