There
are a lot of words I can use instead of changing. ‘Fearful’, ‘scary’ ‘different’,
‘uncertainty’, ‘unsure’, ‘difficult’, ‘separate’, ‘emotional’, ‘dissimilar’ or
perhaps the rather cliché: “inevitable”. Regardless, they are all related to world change. We feel all of these when there is change.
Change
can be good and change can be bad. Change can be positive and change can be
negative. Change can be personal and change can be political. We have been
facing change ever since we knew how to breathe. And yet, when we feel a change
coming into our lives, we hesitate. We hesitate to step out of this comfort
that we have made ours. We hesitate to make a different routine. We hesitate to
adapt to a new environment or a new system even though we know in our hearts
how relieving it would be. We would rather things stay the way they are or
the way they used to be: much simpler. But there is no denying, that there
will be change whether you want it or not.
There
will be changes in you and everyone around you whether you like it or not. It’s
a part of life and it’s part of growth. Change changes you. Accept it. Embrace
it. Welcome it. And here’s the deal with the change: change can be hard, but
if you have the right people who can help you deal with it, change does not seem to be as hard.
