Change

    There are a lot of words I can use instead of changing. ‘Fearful’, ‘scary’ ‘different’, ‘uncertainty’, ‘unsure’, ‘difficult’, ‘separate’, ‘emotional’, ‘dissimilar’ or perhaps the rather cliché: “inevitable”. Regardless, they are all related to world change. We feel all of these when there is change. Change can be good and change can be bad. Change can be positive and change can be negative. Change can be personal and change can be political. We have been facing change ever since we knew how to breathe. And yet, when we feel a change coming into our lives, we hesitate. We hesitate to step out of this comfort that we have made ours. We hesitate to make a different routine. We hesitate to adapt to a new environment or a new system even though we know in our hearts how relieving it would be.
