What I look Forward to in 2022?

  


Happy New Year!

2021 has gone by in the blink of an eye, hasn’t it? 2020 seemed long, straining even. But not 2021, 2021 seems to have gone by in a jiff. Maybe because we were trying to do and fit everything in, all that we could not do in 2020.

2021 seemed like a hope over 2020; we had so much to look forward to a new vaccine, the end of Corona, and what not? Did it give us that? Vaccine: yes, the end of Corona: no. Even more, 2021 brought us a new variant: Omicron. At the start of 2021, I had high hopes, but what should I look forward to in 2022?

The new year is a fresh start, of course. And for every new page, I have positive thoughts. I have learned that:

  •       There is no use fretting over things you have no control over.
  •      This is no one’s fault really.
  •        Everything will happen in its own time

And here is what I look forward to, and you should, too

  •       Living life to the fullest
  •       Accepting change
  •       Appreciating little things more

The battle goes on, both of life and of Corona. Build yourself with positive thoughts and healthy habits.

Rajamati

I think we’ve all heard the song of Rajamati growing up. It is so popular that many people in Nepal claim this is the only Newari song that they have heard. The song was written some 200 years back. The first few lines go like this, which I’m sure you must have heard of, unless you’ve been living under a rock: Rājamati kumati, jike wasā pirati Hāya bābā Rājamati-chā Rājamati mabila dhāsā Kāshi wane tela bubā Hayā biu Rājamati-chā. San dhāsā kuli kuli, mikhā dhāsā bālā bālā Sakumi yā mhyāy machā lā Khwā dhāsā tuyu khwā, khwālay niga tee du Tāhā Nani yā Rājamati-chā. It is said to be written by or rather from the perspective of a man who was infatuated and in awe of the beauty of Rajamati. Best Places for Breakfast in Kathmandu

The only reason I love sleep, more than the reason that, well, it’s sleep, is that it’s like time travelling to breakfast.  Yeah, no kidding. Breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Whoever named that meal breakfast, was straightforward. I don’t know who named lunch and dinner, but the breakfast guy? He cut in straight to the point, didn’t he?
