You know them; you’ve seen them lurking close,
lurking around. They can just seem like the next person. But they’re not,
because they’re watching you.
Let me get one thing straight: watchers are not
stalkers; absolutely not. Stalkers are not the same as watchers. Stalkers are
creepy and well, it’s ethically and morally wrong. But, somewhere, watchers are
even creepier because they could be anyone and everyone around you.
You’d think you’ve got rid of the watchers when you
don’t go out as often or don’t hang out with them as much. You’d think you’re
free from the endless questions or judgmental stares when it has been ages you
haven’t met them. You’d think you got away from the watchers because you’re
thousands of miles away from them in another territory. You’d think you’re not
entitled to answer to questions you don’t want to because well you don’t have
to, and they’re not physically there.
You’d think social media is your safe place where
you can be yourself and you can post anything you want. You’d think you’re safe
from all the watchers, content in your own world. But social media has only
made it easier. You’d think the watchers
won’t be able to watch you or judge you anymore. But honey, you’re being
watched and judged now more than ever, every second of every day.
