Here is a twist to the
normal French toast recipe. I know, I know, it sounds weird and it probably is.
My brother said the same.
“Whaaaa? Why, just
why?” were his exact words to be precise.
But the taste is worth
trying for. You have this crunchy layer for this soft bread.
Here is what you will
need:
1 egg
3 tablespoons of milk
Sugar to your liking
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
powder
½ cup cornflakes
Butter
White sliced Bread
This will only take
about 10 minutes of your time and it is a very filling breakfast.
Instructions:
- Take a bowl and crack in your egg.
- To your egg add in your 3 tablespoons of milk
- Add in your sugar to the mixture. Give it a good mix
- Pour in your cinnamon power there and give it another good mix.
- Crush up your cornflakes in a zip lock bag or just spread them out on a plate and crush them with the palm of your hands.
- Soak your bread into the egg mixture
- Set your pan on medium heat over the stove
- Put in a dab of butter there.
- Then take your soaked bread and press it onto the crushed cornflakes
- Sizzle it on the pan, lower the heat: the bottom part for about 45 seconds and then flip for about 15- 25 seconds. Check to make sure.
- Continue with the rest.
You can serve with
fruits. It would make a delicious combination.
