We’re all craving that rich decadent chocolate cake during this lockdown right now, aren’t
we ? Because, let’s face it, what better cake than chocolate cake? Well,
think again, because you don’t have to go far, nor do you have to wait long. Make
yourself a mug cake: it’s just as good, takes only minutes and besides this,
there aren’t even many dishes for you to take care of thereafter. It’s the
perfect getaway.
Here’s
what you’re going to need:
3
tablespoons flour
1
tablespoon oil
¼
cup milk
3
teaspoons sugar
A
pinch of salt
½
teaspoon baking powder
1
teaspoon vanilla essence
1
teaspoon cocoa powder
1
bar of chocolate (use what is available, I used dairy milk fruit and nut, or
you can skip this part)
The
whole ordeal takes about only 5 minutes, including the preparation time. So brace
yourselves.
Instructions:
- 1. In a small bowl, put in your flour.
- Then put in your cocoa powder
- Give it a good stir, make sure there are no lumps
- Pour in your sugar
- After you give it another stir, pour in your milk, you can add more milk to your liking, if the batter seems dry to you.
- Add in your vanilla essence and whisk the batter
- Put in your baking powder and lastly sprinkle your salt
- After the batter seems smooth and lump free, take about 2 rows of your chocolate bar and cut them into chunks
- Take your microwave safe mug and pour in a little of the batter then layer it with chocolate chunks. Sort of how you would layer a cake. Keep on going till you pour in all of your batter and finish off with some chunks on the top.
- Make sure you don’t fill the batter to the rim of your mug. We want our mug cake to rise and it will. So leave about a quarter of the cup for the cake to rise.
- Put the mug into your microwave for about 1 minute to 1 minute 20 seconds depending on your microwave on P 100. My microwave is 1250 watts so please check yours and adjust the timing accordingly.
