Dhulikhel lies up in the east, 30 km from Kathmandu. Yet, it feels like you have come much farther than that because it feels you’re that far from the crowd. From the periphery of the ridge, a spectacular panorama of peaks unfolds, from Langtang Lirung in the east, all the way through Dorje Lakpa to the huge bulk of Gauri Shankar and close to Melungtse (7181m) and as far as Numbur (5945m) in the east.
But do not think the
visible mountain range is all there is to Dhulikhel!
Pack a small bag. And
have a read at how you could spend a great day in Dhulikhel.
Breakfast at Mirabel
Hotel
Old Dhulikhel Bazar
The road leading to the
old bazaar is lined with small temples and shrines like that of a Ganesh temple
nearby and impressive old European colonial looking building. It’s here, Dhulikhels relative obscurity on the tourist trail pays off and one feels like
you are discovering these places for the very first time.
Zip lining at Dhulikhel
Ziplining point
The newly opened
Dhulikhel Zipline at Khawa, Dhulikhel has become an eye candy for many, with zip
lining available in two ways. One; the normal and two: the superman. So yeah,
if you’ve ever dreamt of soaring in the wind as a superman, this is your go to
place.
