I cannot, for the life of me, emphasize enough on how one district singlehandedly is blessed so much naturally! I’m not even kidding. Usually I play out a one day itinerary for the places that I post on my blog, but for makwanpur, you might need a whole day to visit a particular place. So I’m going to make an exception: here’s a list of places you might want to visit in Makwanpur. You can plan a whole day to visit there; that would still make it one day in makwanpur: wink wink. Hey don’t look me like that, it’s not my fault Makwanpur is so awesome with beautiful places that might take you some time.
Kulekhani
Dam
The
ever famous Kulekhani dam might take you a few hours to get, depending on the
route you take from Kathmandu. The dam is serene to look at, and a pleasure no
doubt. If you want, you could go boating there, the surroundings are more than
inviting!Markhu
Chitlang
Okay rephrase: perhaps you could visit these three places of Makwanpur in one day, if you’re up for it: Kulekhani dam, Markhu and Chitlang. There is no way you have not heard about Chitlang yet. A few kilometres ahead of Markhu; it is one of the most famous destinations here. Besides its surreal environment and snuggliness in the lap of hills, Chitlang is just a blessed place to be in. And of course, you cannot miss the Chitlang Organic Village; another place to hit the night with your friends at Makwanpur.
Sisneri
Daman
About
77 km away from Kathmandu and at a height of 2270 m, Daman is perfect for a
weekend getaway and to catch a snowball fight when it’s that time of the year. The
Everest Panaroma Resort gives you an exceptional experience to stay at Daman.
You can catch a great view from the Daman tower and take a walk down to the Risheswor
Mahadev temple. As much as hear about Sindhuligadhi: hell there’s even a song after that place, we might not hear as much often about Makwanpurgadhi. But it’s there alright. A little further from Hetauda: about 17 km, this fort takes a massive space. It holds historical importance. Although in a fairly ruined state, she still stands for people to see.

So,
go ahead, choose which ever part of Makwanpur you want to head towards and
spend an awesome day there. I promise you, the journey, despite being long,
will be worth it.
