This would seem like a measly attempt compared to what you are expected to put up with at the moment, but I’m going to try anyway; I’m going to try to show our gratitude for all that you do.

You guys are real heroes working front line in such a crisis, such a situation. You have been working hard keeping aside your hunger, your tiredness. And how you must want to spend time with your own families during the lockdown! Despite this, you are battling. You are working overtime; you are keeping up with excessive hours of work and emergency situations because duty comes first. You are putting your own health and your own life at risk to serve others. That is huge! Have you been told how brave you are? You are so brave!

I honestly hope you stay strong and well through this and I hope the same for all of your families!

May we get through this pandemic and emerge as stronger, healthier and happier people!

I think we’ve all heard the song of Rajamati growing up. It is so popular that many people in Nepal claim this is the only Newari song that they have heard. The song was written some 200 years back. Dhana Kumari Bajracharya resides amidst the hustle and bustle in Gabahal, Patan. She is a 70 year old woman, who you would think is much younger at age, if you look at her.
