Dear future Upama,
As I sit here munching on our birthday cake, I
cannot help but think what life is going to be like many years from now.
Writing this is weird, since I have never done something like this before. But
hey, my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to give it a try anyway. So
here it goes.
I have not thought of the exact year you
should read this, but if at this point, you do not remember how this year went,
or how this day went, let me tell you: it was wonderful. You were
surrounded by the people you love, like you always have been. And you appreciated
it. Always appreciate everything in life; even the little things, you must have
realized by now that those little things matter the most.
This past year was also very hectic and stressful;
juggling between your career and studies and of course with the big question:
what now? But you made it! You are going to make through everything! I hope by
now, you have realized that everything is going to be okay and that you have
the power and control over your life to do anything you set your mind to. You are
stronger than you think.
I take it there is not much I could advise you on
since you will have more experience and maturity than me by the time you are
reading this. However, there are some things I would like to tell you:
-
I hope you have still got that little
bit of childishness in you (or a lot) like everybody says; life would be boring
without it anyway.
-
I hope you are not as gullible and
naïve; you and I both know that way too many people can take advantage of that.
-
I hope you are as determined on pursuing
things that interest you. Always, always do that.
Take care of your family. Keep your friends close
like you always have.
Congratulations on making it this far! You have more
to go!
Sincerely,
Past Upama
